However, I do not want to install MS-DOS. I booted to the MS-DOS command line, ran FDISK to create a primary partition, and FORMAT C: to create a FAT12 file system. In the BIOS setup of the emulated machine, I changed the booting order to start with the floppy. I mounted the DOS boot image as ImDisk Virtual Disk in Windows Explorer context menu and copied the Grub4DOS files BOOTLACE.COM and GRLDR onto it. As new primary master hard disk, I created a 10 MiB type 01 fixed-sized VHD image.
